The WWL - my weekly wish list of things I would purchase this week if I had the cash.
As your average college student, sometimes I struggle to see even 3 digit numbers in my bank account, let alone 4! But after all, it's my dream of style to have these at my disposal. Designer clothes are of the best quality and aesthetic in the industry; it's (part) of why they're so expensive.
I know a lot of individuals who could never imagine spending this much money on clothes, and say things like "Even if I had was rich, I would never spend $1,000 on a pair of shoes!" Well girl.......I WOULD. I desperately wish I could. Of course I wouldn't only buy designer clothes, but they will certainly take up a solid amount of my wardrobe once it has the chance. After all, runway collections are what made me fall in love with fashion in the first place.
This week I was inspired by the queen Rihanna's cover of Dazed magazine this winter. I loved the bright pop of yellow, and the overall tones and mood the photo conveys. Yellow has been a hot color for a few season's now, mix that with faux fur and you have this incredible statement piece that takes this outfit to a whole new level (and it's not even the most expensive item on the list). A yellow teddy bear coat would be a great piece to buy as well. I would love to be able to start off 2018 in this outfit. Wearing yellow during the first week of the year has to bring positive energy, right?
Another thing I am dying for is a pair of stupid wide leg jeans, just crazy wide. Maybe even more than this pair, but I love the cut and silhouette of this denim from Solance London. They would have been every 70s girl's dream.
Now, while mules may not be the best winter choice in terms of footwear, you could save them for those special day when the snow has melted away for a few hours. I don't think wide leg jeans have the same effect if the hem isn't lifted off the ground with some type of heel. These mules from The Row are closed-toe, and practical enough to take the risk in colder weather.
Graphic, logo, quote and band tees have become much more popular than they had been in the past. Plus it would keep the attention on the jacket and the jeans. Geometric jewelry and hardware is a thing I am going to keep in my lists and outfits a lot this season, because every single part of the look is visually pleasing. They make long earrings - which are normally associated with evening wear - appear modern, chic and perfect for day or night. I've been eyeing a few pairs from ASOS that you may see in an upcoming post.......but until then, I'll be drooling over these items.
