The 3 women you NEED to be taking style tips from

Zendaya

The Disney star we all know and love. The young bi-racial activist. The gorgeous woman that is Zendaya. She's an incredible person all around, and with that comes her great style. From red carpets to candid moments while she's not working, Zendaya has a unique way that she dresses. I admire her bravery when it comes to trying so many different kinds of looks - she never places herself in a box. Her stylist, Law Roach, is amazing in his own respect as well, and together they are such a dynamic team!

Zendaya is very involved in the fashion industry. She has her own clothing brand, self titled "Daya" by Zendaya. It started as a shoe line that later included clothing. Typical items were streetwear staples; sweatpants, bomber jackets, slip dresses, jumpsuits, and more. However there currently isn't anything for sale on the website. She's done campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana and Micheal Kors. Plus, she recently worked with boohoo, a UK based retailer, to create a limited edition collection. It was really trendy and the pieces just reaffirmed her talents.

The top styling tricks that I've learned from her are;

1. When taking your look to a sophisticated level, keep it chic. For high profile events or  premiers don't always try to take it over the top. Zendaya has perfected the classic, beat look. It's definitely something I always think to when I'm getting ready for an event.

2. This next tip is especially important if you're a young adult. Don't try to dress older than you are! Keep your choices fun, like Zendaya does (who is only 21 btw).

3. Wigs can be your best friend, and clearly you should never just rely on your natural hair color, style, or texture. Zendaya often rocks her natural curls, but she'll also pair dreads, an afro, a super blunt cut, or even wilder options with her outfits. Don't be afraid to try a new hairstyle for a night!

Aleali May

If you don't know her yet, what are you doing? Living under a rock? This street style icon and stylist has been making her way into fashion's elite. She's worked with people like Lil Yatchy and Playboi Carti. She released her own pair of Jordan's last year. Plus, she's recently modeled in a few runway collections as well.....basically she's been killin the game.

She is often wearing brands like A-cold-wall*, Off-White, Alexander Wang, and Opening Ceremony. These are all some of my favorite designer brands so it's no wonder why I love her style. I've been following her for a few years now, practically since the first time I saw a photo of her. Her styling is just....on POINT. I am constantly served inspiration from her outfits.

She is street style to the core. She rocks sneakers, loose cargo pants, with bodysuits and bombers. Her outfits usually stick to a monochrome theme, and straight silhouette. But like anybody, she'll switch it up.

The top styling tricks that I've learned from her are;

1. Keep your outfit in the same tone. Aleali is always rockin earth tones: browns, greens, blues, with black and white. Or she'll wear something that's the same shade of burgundy from top to bottom and it always works. It looks cohesive and put together.

2. Don't be afraid to show a little stomach or a little leg. Wearing a lot of loose or oversized clothing can end up making it look like you're drowning in fabric. To bring focus back to your frame, let some skin show.

3. The wider, the baggier, the more detailed the pant, the better. Why wear a plain pair of skinny jeans when you can wear pants like these?

Ryan Destiny

Hands down the most underrated style icon out right now. She's a part of the show "Star" on FOX, with Queen

Latifah. It was a look of hers that I saw on the Instagram discover page that made me stop and take a second to check out her style. I was not disappointed. She's got such a dope, young and contemporary look that I admire, because it's really similar to how I like to dress. Her stylist, Scott Louie, also doesn't get enough credit if you ask me.

The top styling tricks that I've learned from her are;

1. When "off-duty", go for streetwear that's gender neutral. Unisex clothing is getting more popular with both consumers and brands. Menswear staples work just as well for women so use this tip to help blur those lines.

2. Glamorous looks can be contemporary too. If you didn't agree with the previous tip to go chic when getting fancy, then you'll love Ryan. She proves that you can go the contemporary route when walking the red carpet and look just as good.

3. If you're feeling adventurous, give the matrix/y2k look a try. Recently black leather, trenches, and small frame sunglasses have been seen everywhere on the runway but Ryan has been doing it for a while now. (Im telling you guys, she is underrated!!)

All of these women have very unique styles and deserve respect in their own way. They've been my go to style icons when I need some inspiration for any type of look or outfit. Now that you've seen what they are best at, I hope you use some of the style tips to help you when you're in need of an idea!
